Latest news releases

ROCHESTER, Minn. – Eastbound Interstate 90 motorists who use the off-ramp to travel north on Highway 52 southeast of Rochester will be detoured beginning Wednesday, Aug. 26 as crews place curb and gutter and pave northbound Highway 52, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

It’s expected that work will take approximately two weeks. The following detours will occur during that time.

  • Eastbound I-90 motorists wanting to go north on Highway 52 should take the northbound Highway 63 exit near Stewartville to connect with Highway 52.
  • Eastbound I-90 motorists wanting to travel south on Highway 52 should take I-90 Exit 224 (Eyota) and travel south on Olmsted County Road 7 to connect with Highway 52 north of Chatfield.

Once paving work is finished, the eastbound I-90 off-ramp will reopen to traffic wanting to travel north on Highway 52. The closure from the eastbound I-90 off-ramp to travel south on Highway 52 will remain in place. The detour will direct traffic to travel north on Highway 52, take the Marion Road exit and then exit to southbound Highway 52.

This work is part of the I-90/Highway 52 interchange project. To learn more about it, go to MnDOT’s website where you can also sign up to receive email and text message updates.
